Star Orc anyone?

Postby zealot » Tue Sep 26, 2006 1:03 am

I've been throwing pro wraiths for long d and was wondering about the star orc b/c i prefer star plastic (basically my wraiths get worn in fast b/c i throw abou 250 holes a week and my course has a fair share of open d shots) i have a star wraith but i only use it for big hyzers atm.

so if anyones used the star orc give me some comparisons.

I've only thrown the SB Orc, but I can't imagine it would be that much different. They're good for hyzers, if that what's you like throwing. Not as long as the wraith for me though, but you can put them quite a way out there. I like the orc better than the wraith personally; I feel it's much more predictable. It's also got a smaller lip. The disc starts out pretty beefy, and the only orcs that start more overstable are those clear domey champion ones.

Since I haven't even seen one of these, are the star orcs flat like the SB or are there some domey ones?

My Star Wraith has become understable, well at least more than it used to be. My Teerex is uberstable. My champion orc is straight.

I liked champ orcs but they like their dx and pro counterparts broke in much faster than champ plastic should. My pro starfires lasted almost as long an my champ orcs. I am not surprised the teerex would get flippy, it has nothing to keep it stable other than speed, same for the wraith, or the orc. Orcs are good drivers, I just wish the kept their stability better.

Threw the star orc Sunday (rhbh) this thing is nothing at all like the sb ORC I was killing the sb orc right up until I switched to all GDS and it was a nice flat flyer great hyzer flip disc that kept penetrating forward at the end of flight.

The star orc is a meat stick, I have spirits that are about the same imo. I threw maybe 10-12 shots with it and never even made it stay turned over enough to flex, It really reminded me more of a fast firebird.
