innova vs. discraft

Postby Drew » Tue Oct 03, 2006 7:17 pm

what would be a good innova replacement for a discraft elite z xs? as well if people could discuss what they think are good innova counterparts for discraft discs. i am new to disc golf and where i live now discraft is not that available so i was wondering what could be a good replacement, and this could be a good resource for others in my situation.

I agree with everything you had except, Roc = Wasp. I would think Roc = Buzz, at least for me.

Champ Orc/ Beast = Z Flash
Stingray = Stratus
Z Putt'r = Brick :x

I don't know why you'd want a replacement for a Z XS. Just get another one. That is a money disc in all forms of wear. I just missed an ace with mine the other day. I am continually discovering new things that this baby will do with different throws. I've never tried a Valk, though, so I'm kinda biased.

My really beat Roc doesn't really act like my Buzz. Especially at lower speeds.

I would say Shark = Buzz

What would be the equivalent of the big bead Aviar? Banger or Challenger?

viking would be more stable, but a good replacement.

and for the list

Teebird = Nothing, Z tracker has less resistance to turn
TeeRex = Pulse
Aviar = Magnet, avair X = challegner

The reason I started throwing a z xs was I was having trouble finding a champ valk. If you're doing well with the xs, I wouldnt change it. I may be fixing to put mine back in the bag.

z wasp = new roc
z buzz = beat up roc (where most people like it)
d buzz = really beat up roc (about the point people get a new one)

One thing I've noticed about the buzz/roc difference: my buzz doesn't seem to require as much height as a roc for comparable distance.

Don't let people suade you towards one manufacturer; throw what you like.

I think roc wasp works, two flying predators.

as for
SM Roc = Torque
The SM was very stable/overstable when new and took a long time to break in usually, due to the stiff plastic.From the sounds of it, the torque flies like a late production ontario Roc. In a sense everyone can understand, a seasoned Roc. Lawry's seasoning salt was used in fact.

Texas, the Buzzz is definately better for lower trajectories, its alittle faster and has a bit of glide.

I would really have to disagree with this statement. I have both, and I really don't like the Shark. It is no where near as straight as the Buzz. I don't even subscribe to the theory that beat Roc= Buzz. I have a really beat Roc, and it is not anything like my Buzz. I think beat Roc = Wasp.

beat rocs still have a higher resistance to turn than a buzzz (up to a point, super beat rocs will turn). If any innova disc flies like a buzzz I would say its the Coyote.
