'cept the PD comes second to the OLF
cause you can get an understable OLF (the 1.1) and a stable OLF (the 1.2)

more variety and selection in the OLF line to meet your needs

I don't really think one is actually better than the other, its more just a feel thing. That being said, you can beat a P-PD understable fairly easy, and I wouldn't consider a disc being 2 different molds an advantage...1.1, 1.2 OLFs...you may as well throw an OLF and the PD because they have as much in common as the 2 OLF versions.

they are virtually the same disc (wouldn't we all like to know what the top is on the PD)

and if I had not already decided on the OLF I would have gone with the PD

I do however like being able to choose a 1.1 or a 1.2 depending on my needs

As far as I know the 1.1 and 1.2 are the same mold.

How do you tell if it is a 1.1 or a 1.2 if it is not marked on the disc? I bought two of these and neither one is marked with the run.

From the PD thread:

the OLF has been tweaked. it's now a firebird bottom w/ teerex top (vs. a firebird bottom w/ starfire top). the result has been a very slight tweak in the HSS/LSS (not enough to change the numbers), and PWR. the older OLF's at 350' power were like HSS -0.7 LSS +3. the current OLF's at 350' power are like HSS -0.3, LSS +3.2.

I may not be describing that right but if you put a 1.1 and a 1.2 side by side you can see a (very minimal) difference

I throw OLFs in the tourney bag and PDs in the goof off bag. Looks like I know which one is superior.

Who is more in control over Frank...Goof off Frank, or serious Frank?

I believe the 1.1s are marked "Qof" on the back and the 1.2s are marked "Qolf." You must have gotten that at Walmart.

there are 1.3's out there now.

i don't remember the exact runs, but there are blunter tops on all 3 plastic types as of now.

the ratings tweak for the 2 molds has already happened. the HSS/LSS values stayed the same but the PWR rating went from 4 to 5.

i see, well for the 1.2 the S and Q were both still the old mold, never seen a 1.3 but i didnt like the feel of the 1.2 MOLF i fondled too bad the changed em all now

The various plastics dome up differently. It depends on the temperature and humidity when the discs are made. I know for a fact that the 1.1 and 1.2 SOLS are the same mold and they don't look alike or throw alike at all. The 1.2 is more overstable compared to the 1.1.

i've still only seen the OLX mold on 1.2 MOLF

team feedback was in favor of the original mold + dome, rather than the X mold. the X mold was tested in S and M, but not Q. that run was like 25 discs too, so no leaky-leaky into general stock.
