well when those Eagles were hard fading on me I was barely cracking 300. Now that I throw a lot farther than that I wouldn't mind throwing those again but I have traded them away. Innova does say that the Eagle is the original professional level fairway driver. Blake also lists the Eagle-X as a power 4 driver meaning you need at least 275' distance to get it to "fly right". and this may be upped slightly if you are throwing premium plastic.

Well I guess since I thread jacked this thing earlier I'll revive it. In this off season I've somehow started throwing an Eagle-X/Leopard combo. I'm really liking it. It reminds me of the Avenger/SS combo. The only thing that bugs me is that I've fallen in love with molds that could potentially replace ones I'm heavily invested in (my stacks of XLs and Cyclones are staring at me tearfully.)

So what do you guys think about the Eagle-X/Leopard combo?

it is a classic combo but I don't think you gain anything over the xl/cyclone. if you are throwing avenger/ss at the distance levei you could get away with just xl's IMO. using z/esp for over stable x for staight and beat x for flipping.
Sole, Summit, ridge, vp, ibex, obex, trak, ascent, unlace, lace, olace, solace,
i have seen monkey sh!t fights at the zoo more orginized then this.

What do you think you gain with having both molds vs. only throwing EX's in different plastics/stages of wear?

Having just EXs means you don't really have a mold that is really gonna be right finishing on those long anhyzers.

after today's round I'm sold on Eagle-X/Leopard. It does what I want without any guess work or worries about power requirement. I can crush both the EX and the Leo. I think I need to make a dorky check my baggage thread now.

Have you ever thrown beat DX EX's? I'm wondering how they fly compared to Star Leo's in terms of HSS and LSS relative to power requirement.

One thing I know is that DX EX's take a while to really beat in to understable.

DX EX's have more LSS for quite a while.

Also the new hotness combo is EX/FD

I have a couple of DX EXs and one is well seasoned. It flies slightly negative HSS but not the same as a Leopard. The discs feel very different in their flight. The Leopard feels more like a sweeping disc whereas the EX feels more like a sharp turning disc. This is my experience. I'm no 990 rated player though.
