from what i've heard on this thread, the axis kinda sounds like an impact. i could be entirely wrong, but that's how i've taken it.

I got an axis, ion, and vector coming. Giving mvp a second chance so we will see what happens.

Been a while but when I tossed an Impact with driving power it would turnover on a flat throw, where the Axis tends to want to go pretty damn straight.

It really flies nothing like an Impact. The Impact is faster, more speed/nose angle sensitive, and less high speed stable...A Storm-L with that weird cross-hatching failed experiment. The Axis a gyroscopically weighted Buzzz with a Comet top-nose/shoulder and a small bead-like extension. It's flight is neutral with a dependable forward fade. The Impact will be OOP within a couple of years, and the Axis is the best all around mid I've ever thrown (I'd I think it's going to be MVP's best seller)...Just for reference.

PS...I don't think the Impact is a bad disc. It's a great driver for beginners and low power players, and I've had fun throwing it. It's just a weird fit distance wise in Discraft's already overcrowded mid arsenal.

being as gyroscopic as it is, does it fly farther than a buzzz?

Not really. It is not as height sensitive and has more glide, so I think in an open field you might be able to air it out further than a Buzzz, but on basic golf line distance it's similar. It feels a tick slower than most Buzzzes, so pure line drive distance might still go to the Buzzz, but the distance difference is slight.

a year ago if you had said this id be forced to give the disc a try due to my trust in your opinions on plastic, unfortunately these days its hard to get an unbiased opinion out of any of your posts as they all stink of company shill, its understandable, if a hip new DG manufacturer wanted to give me discs to test and throw id most likely sing their praises on the forums all day too....im not hating on you or anything but its a sad day for DGR to have your credibility in question
