Gorilla-boy Gorilla or Kong?

Postby phatbeater » Mon Feb 13, 2012 11:07 pm

Hey guys I'm in the market for a new discgolf bag and I've definitely settled on Gorilla-boy I'm just wondering if anyone can compare the two and let me know the differences in the bags? I know that they are both durable and are made from the same materials, so that is a given (hence my decision on going with GB ;) ). Any comments and info would be great. Thanks guys!

If you're got the cash go with the Kong. It has more storage and a second bottle holder. It's my tourney bag. If you don't have the cash and can live with one bottle holder then go with the Gorilla. I have a Chimp and I don't miss the second bottle holder. And you're right, they are both great bags.

Yeah Steady I ordered the Kong today. I'm glad that he actually had some in his store so I shouldn't have to wait but a few days for mine :) I'm definitely stoked to have a legit bad ass bag instead of just an innova starter bag (kinda weird since all my discs are Discraft lol)

Will do, it should come in either today or monday, I'm stoked as fuck! I'm tired of having my tiny innova starter AND I don't even throw innova so that'll be great.

My first GB bag was a digi-camo chimp. It's 4+ years old and still in great shape. It's the bag I use the most (casual rounds). Yes, please put up some picks when you get it! 8)

You have to upload them somewhere like Photobucket.com then copy/paste a link in a reply here using the "Img" button on the full editor.

Alright guys, finally got some pictures of the new Kong, I LOVE the bag so far. The only two things that are minor things are 1. The bag strap is a bit too short for me I'm 6'1 and the bag sits a bit too high and not quite "uncomfortable" but doesn't entirely fit my frame, BUT I am planning to switch to quad straps pretty soon so this wont really be an issue and 2. The bag online looked like the camo colors were going to be more grey and white colored then what is actually on the bag in person, that being said I'm GLAD that it's not. The grey and white would definitely be a stain magnet and this will last and look better over time so I'm definitely more happy with it! The pictures will show the outside and inside of the bag and bag pockets. Hope u guys like em, I definitely do!

1. Picture of the front showing logo and putter pocket (holds 2 putters comfortably but not too snug that makes putter removal tedious)
2. Outside of the bag showing matching shoulder strap
3. Showing the inside of the pocket behind the putter pocket
4. Showing the inside of the putter pocket as well as the mini pocket
5. Left side of the bag (closed)
6. Inside of the main disc compartment (no discs)
7. Inside of the right side pocket
8. Inside of the right side pocket (slightly different angle)
9. Inside of the left pocket (showing the key ring holder)

The only other thing that I didn't picture was the flap holder that is on the back of the bag. Just tuck in the flap and it works great, not too tight to where you have to stuff it in but not loose enough to look awkward or fall out, comes out fast in case it rains. If there is anything that you guys would like to see please don't hesitate to hit me up and I'll be sure to take more pics. Thanks guys, I definitely recommend this bag to any that plays with 18-22 discs if not the silverback is just as wonderful it just holds a few less discs.
