Beat, Seasoned, or New? What do you putt with?

Postby RebelZero » Mon Mar 19, 2012 12:04 pm

I'm just curious. I carry 3 Soft Wizards: one beat to hell for putting in the circle; one mildly beat for approaches and drives; one new for windy putts or hyzer drives.

How does everyone else do this? Anyone prefer a newer, more stable putter in the circle?

I prefer beat, when I settle on a putter I like for putting I try to get like 4-6 of them and season them out back to get them where I want them.

I prefer a seasoned putter, but not too beat. Usually the middle of the spectrum thrower is what I like in a putter.

Once my main putter reaches beat it usually becomes my jump putter/approach disc.

My 2 main putters are seasoned up from a few years use, but they've been babied the whole time. Mostly superficial nicks from missed putts. I carry some more beat up Aviars for driving and approaching that get broken out for tricky putts on occasion.

Yeah. I finally put in a putter worthy successor in the bag a couple weeks ago. My main putter is getting close to 2 years old. I've got exact matches of each one, so im set.

The one that feels the best. Usually means seasoned because the grip improved especially in dx/pro plastic. The only putter I have liked the feel out of the box was the yeti pro aviar. Which by the way 4x Yetis exist and are tastey, especially the heavy yellows

Seasoned Omega SS (first runs), inside the circle and for jump putts. I use a Qmega for drives and approach and CE Omega for drives and approaches as well all situational.

I putt with two beat challengers. One 166 and one 175. I have a back up for each. I am always seasoning new ones. I like when they get clovered and caved in on top. Glide increases with age and they go straight.

Seasoned and eventually beat. Because I don't like buying a lot of new putters.
