Whatever you do don't get a Z cyclone. Those things have no glide and are pretty overstable. They fly way different from other plastics.

i gotta disagree with you on that one. they are actually far flying discs and carrying a decent way. i dont really like z plastic and thats why i dont throw them. they are very easy to throw just give them a minor flip and they will hold straight for a good while before fading off.

I love my z cyclone for my overstable fairway range shots.
I carry cyclones for all my drives 325-425 (as the crow flies)
Z cyclone for overstable, headwind, skipshots
X Cyclone for Straight more predictable left to straight
D Cyclone slightly longer straight to right
Flathead Cyclone anything right tailwind ect...

Way ahead of you on that one. None of my cyclone-throwing friends liked the z. The main reason: it is a completely different disc than what we like about the clone.

I've thrown it a few times; it may not be a bad disc. But their are better discs with similar flight patterns.

Are you guys saying i should carry a x and d clone?

a worn x cyclone for me flies very similar to a new d cyclone.
I like having one for that reason. (although I recently lost mine)
when I have a new pro D I will throw it in the place of the X until it starts getting worn, then it moves down the line, and the x stays where it is

That's what I wanted to know; I'll play a few rounds with nothing but my cyclone to beat it up a little faster.

One thing that I need to consider is that all of my old school cyclones were well-beaten in, so it is not a fair comparison to new x cyclones.

I did kind of what Blake did, except that I don't carry them. I'll play with a cyclone for a couple of months; put it in my closet; take a new one; and repeat. In this way, I had maybe 7 (till I lost the last one) being constantly rotated in the optimal stage of wear.

If I go to pro d clones, I'll just carry 3 with me, like Blake does.

blake i noticed that you chose the D cyclone as your #2 spot driver (referring to the "blake's bag" thread). i've been throwing my DX eagle for a little while now as my workhorse driver because i like how straight it flies. i'm not set on it, though, and am thinking about either trying something else, or ordering 3 more DX eagles to break in together... i was just wondering why you choose the D cyclone.

I actually have 2 discs competing for this spot: cyclone and x tracker.

Right now the x tracker is winning, but that's because I ordered x cyclones instead of d, which is what I started with.

I guess I have major over lap, but I'm still carrying an x tracker, x avenger (beat), and x cyclone. Although they are similar in flight, they have different speeds, cyclone, tracker, avenger in that order from slowest to fastest.

I've been looking to remove some, but I haven't been able to decide which I like the best.

you would probably be well off carrying the tracker only (out of those three) if you plan on keeping wraiths in the bag. If you dont carry the wraiths anymore, I would say cyclone and avenger. Ive been doing the cyclone and avenger thing for a bit, and its working well. I would never say they overlap, and I always know which one to reach for.
