i found a bunch of old Cyclones made out of the old Pro plastic. My good one is 1995 vintage and is very stiff and shiny...
What is better, the shiny or powder plastic?
What is power feel?
What is the best color?
etc...

i believe there were only 1 or 2 runs in shiny plastic, the majority of which were hot pink and a few black. these were ~2000.
the older chalkier stuff was a bit longer with the shiny being more stable.
overall, it doesn't really matter very much. i can throw either, but i hate the feel of the chalky plastic, so i prefer the shiny.

Kind of off topic, but i have an MRV in the old chalky pro plastic, and i have to say, i prefer the feel of this disc over everything else ive thrown.

that's different plastic than the old tournament pro cyclones.
there were 2 blends of chalky elite pro plastic, the ones used on the xtra/xs/xtremes, and the ones used on the mrv.
the mrv blend had better durability. the xs plastic was prone to warping but had better glide characteristics.

This is my best Cyclone. Apparently it is a first run. It is by far the longest and fastest of all the ones I have.

Two of my best cyclones were in that shiny plastic: one a black one with a custom stamp (several arms connected at the shoulder to make a star), the other a pink one I had bought used that someone had practice dying with.
the black one went on the wall. Since it was a gift, I really do not want to take the chance of losing it/breaking it. The pink one round a watery grave.
I did just get a hold of a d cyclone that's a butt ugly orange color; I don't believe I can lose this one even if I tried. I may take it hunting next time I go.

the black and pink were from the very last run of cyclones.
they contain a blend of elite pro plastic in them.
