Star XD

Anyone else thinking of getting one of these? The ones I was looking at are CFR and about 30 bucks.

Where is a Star XD?
The XD is one of the greatest discs ever made...

heh... imo, it's kind of a sham that they would even make this, with much more desirable discs could be made in star, let alone in quantities and prices that actually make you want to buy it.

I think a Star XD would be cool... I would love to try one.
A slightly more high speed overstable XD that would not get beat would be awesome. Of course, I hear the Goblin is supposed to be better than the XD. The Rhyno is a copy of the XD, but try to find a stiff one.
I do not understand Blake's comments here. The Aviar is one of the greatest discs ever made but the XD (a flattened Avair) isn't worth a look? The XD was truly ahead of its time, and I still do not see anything that will fly like an XD. Anything with a bead will always fade a bit at low speeds, and the XD will hold a much sharper angle than an Aviar. In other words you can put more curve on an XD than an Aviar. The XD aslo putts well in the wind.
The XD would be more popular if Innova had ever worked the plastic a bit. The ones I see offered at the store look like someone thermoformed the dome out of old cow pies. One good shot to a tree and it never flies quite the same.
The XD has a very thick dome and a thin rim, so the adverse gyroscopic effects of premium plastic may be minimal.
...but then I was throwing XD's when most of these young wipper snappers were in diapers... and I am not even 40 yet... so I am biased.

I think he was saying that their are better alternatives. For 30 bucks, I may have to pass on it anyway.

I actually would be willing to try a star roc. I'd have to start a thread to learn the difference between all the rocs again though.
