P & A Aviar with a bigger Bead?

Postby Bradley Walker » Tue May 30, 2006 10:42 am

OK. I have thrown the DX Aviar P & A for years and years.

I picked up a KC Pro Aviar and it idefinately better for driving in bad conditions, but it is down on glide from the Aviar P & A. I noticed the dome is flattened and the airfoil shape is different.

l like the KC Pro, but I want is an P & A Aviar, with a bigger bead. Do they make such a thing?

I would try a Star Aviar. Although they don't have a bead and are the same mold as the Putt and Approach, the plastic makes them slightly more overstable. They have fairly good glide, don't turn too much like DX Aviar P&As do, and can hold a line really well. I still prefer a 10x KC Pro for much of my putter driving, but the Star Aviar is my main approach disc and sees a lot of driving time, too. I am almost positive they don't make a beaded P&A, but the overstable nature of the Star plastic makes the Star Aviar a perfect missing link between the beaded and beadless Aviars.

an aviar putter with a big bead = big bead aviar.

there used to be a difference because the older big beads are drivers, but since the aviar x, big beads are basically aviar putters with beads.

OK. Where do you get one and what are they called?

I saw a Pro Aviar at the store. It appeared to be "big bead Aviar".

So they make big bead Aviars in DX? IF so, where do I get one?

They don't make BB Aviars in DX anymore. If you are curious though, I have a 175g DX BB Aviar I'd trade or sell.

Well, that sucks.

I would certainly consider a trade for your Aviar. What do you want?

Just switch to the Wizard. Get a Soft one for putting and a medium one for driving :P

They don't? Aren't these the 'grid-top' designed aviars?

I believe these are small bead aviars made of harder DX plastic than usual.

Yah, maybe so.

I have KC Pro's. Aren't they Wizards, pretty much?

What I want is Aviar glide and KC Pro Aviar penetration with no fade.

Better yet would be Aviar glide and Rhyno penetration with no fade.

I also want a BB gun, a pony, a Playmate girlfriend on the side, a Corvette, etc etc...

Sounds like you want a CE Aviar(The gold anniversary ones), or a broken in Wizard.

I think the wizard would qualify for the Aviar glide and rhyno penetration, but there's definatly fade. I've got a super thrashed E wizard that's lost a lot of it's fade, but it's hit a hell of a lot of trees off the tee to get there. :)
