I've got an unthown yellowish/orange Comet that I think is from the test run of the disc from one of the first batches of Z plastic back in ~2000 or 2001. No markings on the front, except for a huge Ron Russell signature that stretches across the disc -- very cool sig, btw. My brother randomly ran into Ron Russell on a course back then and played a round with him. Got the disc at the end of the round and had RR sign it. For you Comet gurus, any ideas on what it might be worth?

If it really is from a Z test run, I'd say in the 50-60 range

LOL, yeah the list of what they have is shrinking little by little, only 5 left in 4 different weights.

Glad I grabbed the 2 170-173's they had when I did!

The light ones were all red :(

I wanted that ecto-cooler green from the photo!

Spoke with a buddy that spoke with Big D and he said something about red, green, yellow blue and maybe orange in the main run(s).
I threw Wizards before they were cool.

So......... is this the affirmation that there will be a production run?

I'm guessing so. I'm playing a tourney tomorrow and Darren Harper should be there. I'll make a point of asking him.

thats good to hear. I did like my ESP comet, but I gave it a thorough beating and it became somewhat erratic, lost it off a big hill and decided to give a meteor a try for my understable mid.

but now that ESP's may become production run (If I am reading the thread correctly) then I will probably switch back to Comets and just stash up.

OK, so here's what scoop I could gather...

A> They're nice. Very nice. I didn't get to throw one, but the two guys that snagged one already were very pleased. Much like a DGLO Z Comet in flight, and somewhat soft, as well (it was 28F, so I couldn't tell HOW soft). Notably more stable than an ESP Comet, but not quite as stable as a Buzzz. Very straight on long throws.

B> I asked Darren about it, it sounds like this is a limited run like the ESP ones are. He said he wasn't sure if they were going to go into regular production. I'd wager if either limited edition plastic is going into production, ESP will be first.
I threw Wizards before they were cool.
