Masking discs during dying?

i went through quite a few ways of spinning before coming to that one.

Does Acetone remove the hotstamp off of discs as well?

I have a couple that I would like to take off before I dye them....

Heres the test disc, didn't turn out too bad, 2 spots where it leaked under the contact paper, but it could have been alot worse



I'm gonna try the bigger job in the next few days, results to follow.

if you leave the dye acetone mix on too long it can damage hot stamps. Nice dyejob, contact paper likes to run sometimes, especially w/ more complex designs.

Can rubbing with acetone actually damage the plastic, like eat away at it?

I'm trying to get a stamp off but I hate to rub at it with acetone if it's just going to smear it or damage the disc.

The disc is a premium plastic, but the stamp is more like a DX stamp instead of the traditional Innova Champion stamp.

I don't think complex dye jobs are for me, I need something that if I make to horrendously bad, I can just dye the whole thing and forget about it

ive never noticed any damage from acetone. Ive even let discs sit in acetone for short periods of time (less than a half hour), longer than that i would wonder though.

but taking a stamp off id never worry about damaging a disc.
