Tell me about this disc

Postby usedtothrow » Tue Aug 21, 2012 5:07 pm

I have a ton of "vintage" discs including golf discs. I'm researching if what I have is collectible and sellable or just old! I haven't been able to find out a thing about one disc, a Discraft Eclipse. There are many newer Eclipses but I haven't found any mention of the one I have (new, unthrown) anywhere. Not on ebay, not online anywhere, not even on Discraft's own website. I bet I bought it in the early 80s, back when I went to every tournament I could get to.

If anyone here recognizes it could you tell me something about it? Original Eclipse? Rare? Best ever? I never threw it so I have no idea. I know how my Phantoms amd Aviars and Innova Aeros flew but not this one. Thanks. It's a little redder than the bright reddish-orange in this pic. Wish me luck on my first embed.

Not that anybody there has said anything about my unknown disc. Are there any other sources out there to ask my question? Thanks.

This disc is so unknown that even Discraft can't tell me anything about it. This is their reply:

"I'm afraid we don't have much info to share with you. It is a stock Eclipse with a previously used stamp, most likely rare only due to its age. Discraft did not maintain much by way of archives in the early days."

I appreciate their getting back to me but I know as much now as I did before---nada.

What more do you want them to tell you.

It’s eclipse
It’s old

And it’s worth 1,000,000 dollars??

Well, I guess this is the wrong forum to find out about my disc.

I believe the Eclipse approved in 1989 may have been the benchmark for setting the minimum because its value is 26 which is still the allowable minimum.

Just saw this, not like it tells you much, but its all a search came up with.
