You are thinking of the correct thing as far as the buffer goes, but it is quite different than a Glocks. With the Sigs, it also consists of a new staineless guide rod, a bushing that installs on the end of the slide, and a plastic buffer. This allows for less play in the action, and gives it a tighter tolerance. If I have time I will take some photos this evening. This is the exact part: http://www.thecountryshed.com/sig1.jpg It is a PITA to put in though.
Edit: I like messing with trigger work, and have done several jobs on s&w revolvers, and 1911's. If you ever need help with something let me know. Another great place to check out is: http://www.thehighroad.org
