For varmits, may I recommend a 22-250? By the way, that is an excellent condition. I have always felt Benelli is overpriced, yet I would not pass up the chance to own one. 7mm is practically a sniper rifle (or is it what they actually use?).

A 22-250 is in the running. I understand they shoot very flat. I'm also considering a .243 so I can use it on deer.

My Benelli is their poor guy offering...similar to a Rem. 870 express. I think it cost about $350. Their semi-auto's however are around $800, but are the best on the market. Perhaps after I get a varmint rifle and a couple pistols, a Super Black Eagle may be in order.

For deer I use my single shot Thompson Contender .44 rem mag. Plus I just feel important carrying around a pistol with a 12" barrel.

Shooting this gives a whole new meaning to hand gun .

The minimum caliber that can be used for deer hunting in Minnesota is .23.
I was thinking the 7 mag is kinda overkill for deer, but maybe it's not either.

I would be using a varmint rifle mostly for coyotes, but since there's really no reason to save the hide, I could use my 7mag for that too. So maybe I should invest in a .357.

I've got one too, with a couple of thirty rd clips. It's a lot of fun for plinking at the prairie dogs close range.

You mean a rifle without a stock right? Those contenders are very nice, a local shop has a used .44 with the bull barrel for sale that I was thinking about, but I got a nice deal on the 29. That and I do better with 6 rounds than I do with 1. What rounds do you use when hunting? I need to get my reloading equipment set up for the .44 now.

That's a beauty. I actually prefer the Ruger redhawk for .44 mags, but that gun is nicer. I traded my .44 ruger for a 10mm S & W revolver.
