rusch_bag wrote:This years playoffs sucked. Same old buy our players teams besides the twins and rockies who both lost rather quickly. Haven't watched a game since they were eliminated. Baseball needs to have a salary cap to make things more fun and exciting rather than having the same teams competing for the championship every year. Gets old. I do hope the Yankees lose to either the Angels or to Philly as they are the worst about buying players. Still hope CC gets a career ending injury. IF the brewers can pick up a few decent pitchers next year, expect them in the playoffs.

baseball has pretty good parity and anyone who roots for a player to have a career ending injury is a jerk.

They are just way too easy to hate. Remember this one:

Yankees I respect: Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, Nick Swisher but it doesn't go much farther than that.

The problem is. Everybody hates the modern Yankees and seems to forget the Yankees of old. Being a Yankees fan all my life I'm used to the hate by now

I've been a Phillies fan since the days of Larry Bowa, Dave Cash, Greg Luzinski, Mike Schmidt and Garry Maddox.

Finally we Philly fans are enjoying some real success and this team looks to be in position to contend for atleast for several more years as the core group of players are under contract for awhile.

The Phillies did play the Yanks earlier this year..... and took 2 out of 3.....
.. in Yankee Stadium.
Last year everyone was writing the Phils off saying they didn't have a chance and they ran the table with no team able to get more than one win against them.
Whether they beat the Yanks in the WS depends largely on the pitching performance of Hamels and Lidge as well as how well the Phillie hitters do against CC Sabithia. Last year they got to CC early during the Milwaukee series and he was taken out early in the game. Supposedly he's better this year but we will soon see.

GO PHILS!!!!

Hamels is fine, you need to worry how Pedro will pitch. Lidge is definitely a worry though.

Sabathia is better this year and he is way lower on the pitcher abuse points list than he was last year when the Phillies knocked him around.

I am excited for game one though, Lee V CC is going to be crazy.

Phillies did win 2-3 this year, very easily could have been 1-3 consider the bullpen collapse in game 3 of the series for the Phillies, which seems to happen often with them.

CC is better this year and playing for a better team than last year. I do not see Phillies rocking him this year like they did last year.

I am excited for this world series, first time i have been excited for a world series in sometime. Go Yankees

Cliff Lee continues his dominance with 6-1 complete game victory in game one.

It should have been a 6-0 shutout if not for J-Ro's throwing error in the 9th. How about striking out A-Rod three times? The dude is pretty much unhittable when he's on.

Well, I gotta get to bed now, gotta get up for work in 3 hrs and got another 14 hr day tomorrow. Sure hope Pedro pitches like he did in his last start, if so we'll be up 2-0, GO PHILS!
