would be the one if you could only take one bands catalog to a desert island?
for me it's gotta be Ween, they rock so many different styles that it would be almost like cheating.

Ween. I know it sounds rigged since you already said it, but it's true. The library is large and varied. They have GREAT live stuff and they dont sound like anything else. Pure Guava kinda blows though, I'd chuck that one into the ocean.

The Mullosk has been my ringtone for a few years now. Maybe it's cause I'm too lazy to change it. Maybe it's cause the mullosk rocks.

nice!
i agree on pure guava, only a couple songs that id consider good, God/Ween/Satan isnt all that great either but pretty much everything after those two is golden

EDIT: and yes, it is because the Mollusk rocks, GREAT album

Hmm, would be tough to decide on the one. It would come down to Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, or Nightwish. I think it would end up being Blind Guardian because although Strat and Nightwish have some truly spectacular stuff I'm not so fond of some of their other work but I enjoy nearly everything Blind Guardian puts out. If this was a baseball Hall of Fame debate I'd be talking career vs. peak value.

Anything by DJ Shadow, but I'd probably pick some of his older stuff. Or UNKLE, Psyence Fiction because it's got sweet drums and great guest collaborators.

Ween is the best band ever. After Ween it would have to be the Grateful Dead. I could probably listen to the Dead for a month and not here the same version of any one song. But, without a doubt my number one pick would be WEEN. I was once at a show, when Deaner brought up a kid from the audience to the stage, to play Bananas and Blow on the Steel Drum. It was the kid's birthday and he tore that s--t up. You have to love a band that can humble themselves, and let a fan play with them on his birthday.

I once went on a road trip from Santa Cruz to the deep recesses of Humboldt Co. (Petrolia to be exact--about 6.5 hours one way). I brought along a decent selection of CD's, and the girls I was roadtripping with picked 12 Golden Country Greats. We ended up listening to that same CD all the way up, and all the way back. That was a fun trip.

Nickleback for sure, especially their newer more eclectic stuff. People hate on them but they are probably top 5 this decade in terms of creativity and song writing.

Things JSW and Nickelback enjoy:

Your pants around your feet
The dirt on your knees
The places that you go (with JSW and nickelback)
The people that you know
The powder on your nose
The freckles on your chest
The way you like [JSW] the best
The white stains on your dress
The way you pass the check
The good times you wreck (with JSW and Nickelback)
Your lack of self respect
