Reset your router (hold reset switch for 30 seconds and disconnect the power while holding the switch) reconnect then ping it at either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 if you can get any response update your firmware using tftp2 http://www.shadowsoftware.net/shadowgameworld/downloads/tftp2.exe

Something like that. Call tech support and tell them you got a new modem from the store and that you need it provisioned. They'll know what to do.

I finally got my shit together and have the new modem in hand. Bob, after I tell them I need the modem provisioned they will take care of stuff on their end and my modem will work? Please fill me in on any extra information I may need cuz I'm a huge noob but I'm straight fending for some xbl.

Yes. I would hook the modem straight to a computer while you're on the phone just to eliminate anything else that might hinder getting online. Don't let them off the phone until you're surfing.
