So my five year old Sony KDF-50WE655 (50" rear projection LCD) blew the bulb tonight. It is $130 +/- to get a replacement bulb. I could bite the bullet and pay about $800 +/- for a newer fully flat LCD with better specs but with a slightly smaller screen (42-46"). I'm usually a real tight ass but my TV is the only thing I ever spend money on. I usually only buy used discs, used cars, used video games etc. at cut rate prices.
also I may still have to buy the Bulb in order to be able to sell the old TV but I'm not sure anyone would buy it.

Hell...my dad is still watching TV on his 1983 22" Zenith. I laugh everytime I am over there. I ask him if he is watching ant's in a snow storm because the picture is so bad.
If the object of disc golf were to hit trees, I'd be 1100 rated.

TV sucks. Now a new monitor or two I would like.
By and by, I'm so pissed of that there isn't a single LCD HD Ready screen on the market worth buying. Every single one I find has a 1366x768 pixel panel so whatever you do the image will always be scaled. What the fuck is the point of buying an HD TV if you can't get pixel perfect image?
Bah, plasma has better colors anyway. And OLED is on the horizon.

What you need a TV for anyway?
It's a real waste of time.
Boycott TV and use that time to do something productive and better yourself. Workout, take a class, learn a new skill, volunteer at a charity, etc. If you do you'll feel so much better.
