You seen ToraDora, Hyakko, K-On!, Gurren Lagann? Those are some pretty damn good and pretty recent shows (only a couple of years old, tops! ). By law I'm also going to have to recommend Zipang if you haven't seen it already.

Some I believe. This conversation really reminded me that the best anime have deep plots, but need to be executed well. Does that make sense? I can recall a few that had good plots, but were god awful. They weren't used right. Paranoia Agent comes to mind.

Even though they haven't been running as long or are as mainstream, there was never an episode of Frisky Dingo or Boondocks that I didn't enjoy.

From your list, I'd say ATHF and SouthPark.

SuperJail is awesome, as well as Venture Bros.

I've watched a little bit of Superjail. Its a bit random and kinda hard to watch, but then I saw mothafuckin' Tim Harrington's cameo in it. May have to watch more :D
