Some years ago, I saw a History Channel show where they put forth that all our calendars are wrong anyways. The monk who did the conversions made a mathematical error. They found that Jesus was actually born in November of 3BC. So all this is all wrong.

To my knowledge the bible (it rhymes with kibble, doesn't it?) doesn't mention the actual date of Jesus' birth, but it's been estimated to have been either in the spring or in the autumn (due to something like how the shepherds and what they were doing was described and other such titbits). Linking it with Christmas(Saturnalia etc.) is a pretty recent development.
