Over the weekend I had:
Lagunitas Sucks (new seasonal IPA)
Green Flash Double Stout
RealAle Sisyphus '11 (barleywine)
Live Oak Primus (weizenbock)
(512) Bruin

And purchased the following for later consumption:
Ska Nefarious Ten Pin Imperial Porter
Jester King Black Metal Imperial Stout

I read a lot of hype about Lagunitas Sucks before tasting it, and Im happy to say it fulfilled. Great tropical fruit hop profile, juicy and just bitter enough with a good malt presence. The 512 Bruin was the highlight of the weekend though - a very solid brown ale with a strong citrus hop presence. Almost like a brown ale / black ipa hybrid, and only $3 a pint at the Saucer tonight!

yup. it was the last in my session, so i don't recall much about it other than it seeming darker in color and a little maltier than the previous years I've had (07 & 08).

Yeah boy, you can't go wrong with Tröegs. I had a conversation with somebody else that knows a thing or two about berz last weekend and we had the same attitude toward Tröegs: they have some beers that we like a lot better than some of their other offerings, but they don't have anything we outright dislike or would turn down.

I recently had Goose Island's Matilda. A spicy Belgian that is the most delightful beer I've ever had from them. I still like the Nightstalker most though.
After that was La Trappe's Quadrupel. I have been on a Trappist style beer kick lately so I was excited about this one. It was a less Belgian (hop style) and more fruity. Very tasty and I managed to get a few other people to give it a shot from their regular crud.
Lastly I had an 8 month aged Lion Stout. Lion Stout is one of my fav beers and the smoothness and blending of flavor that came from the aging was so good I was sad I was splitting it... Oddly aging it took some of the sharpness off of the stout making it taste better to my wife who usually sticks to "softer" beers.

Next up for me. An aged Abby 12. I look forward to this one.

I had one yesterday. It was definitely better than the 09 and 10. They released those way too soon last year and the sisyphus was really watery. I got into barleywines when I had an 07 Sisyphus, which so far has been the best I have tried. It was better than an 06 I had a year ago. I had an aged 07 about a month ago that set up really well. It was thick and syrupy. really damn good beer after 5 years 8)

Tried my first Ten FIDY last night...delicious! Like motor oil in a can :) Gonna crack open a Rahr & Sons Bourbon Barrel Winter Warmer at my wife's birthday dinner tonight, and tomorrow the local Flying Saucer is tapping a cask of Saint Arnold BB Winter Stout!

its a good beer, especially if you like Full Sail beers. I think most full sail brews taste similar, just with a little different tones for what kind of style it is. So it tastes like a full sail beer with winter hints.

I had a Rahr and Sons BB Winter Warmer last night. Fucking delicious!!! The hops is still a bit aggressive. Just be sure so save 1 or 2 to age. I need to be on the lookout for the BB St. arnolds winter stout.
