I'm astounded by the disparity between how many discs are apparently being purchased over there and how many times they've actually thrown any of them. I suppose it's comparable to guys with huge guitar collections and the knowledge of three chords but I struggle to think of other comparisons.

Interesting to me is how quickly new releases become the "workhorses" of people's bags. I mean, can you really develop a feel for, and confidence in, a disc that's only been available in the market for a week or two, and get to the point where nothing that came before could serve the same purpose? Dang. Looks like I'll never figure out this sport.

Rarely it is possible. Those discs tend to be well liked by seasoned players but might seem like shitty discs to people with dirty form or lack of power. Looking at which threads here have the most replies can give a clue to how good a disc is. With those discs you might get the this is right love at first feel, even more after first flight sensation. Sometimes things just click and the birdies start coming and when it is not you alone but the equipment you should bag it most likely. If it happens over and over it was not you having a hot streak but the disc suiting you and working well.

I gave 'em an honestly open minded try over the last couple of days. I figured Mike C, Discspeed, BigSky, Keltik, and some others would be islands of redemption and would make it enjoyable. I just didn't realize the size of the ocean of uselessness those islands were floating in. There was some really good stuff, but the amount of time it took me to skim past all the people posting just to hear themselves talk was ridiculous. I thought that JRs posts took a long time to dig through, trying to keep up with the sheer volume of babbling over there was mind numbing. I'll take our 10-20 quality posts per day over their several hundred any day of the week. And apparently they have a problem with boobs?!?! Who doesn't like boobs!?
