Not really, he's really just a younger Jeremy Guthrie. What I hate about him is he was the big trade this season. The front office tried to sell him as a young up and coming pitcher when all he really is, is a 3rd or 4th starter. He represents the apathy and incompetence of the O's front office to me.

Apathy and incompetence unless you really needed a 3-4 starter. Wait, isn't that what Jeremy Guthrie would be on a decent team? Oh, well. They got younger and got an arm for the bullpen. That still sucks if that was the "big" move.

I wish the Cardinals would have gotten in gear and been serious about picking up Oswalt after it was clear that Carpenter can't pitch. The only way this will work out is if Carpenter can come back in the second half and has some arm left in the postseason since his IP will be down. How it will more likely work out is with El Birdos buried in third trying to hold off Pittsburgh by the time Carpenter can pitch. IF he can pitch.

Fuck the cardinals. Have the brewers number for sure lately. I don't know how any one can cheer for a team that whines so much though. Good riddance to larussa though.

Guthrie is the Rockies ace! Him and Moyer is like the most entertaining 1-2 ever.

The Cardinals' offseason confused me. I understand letting Pujols go, dude was gonna cost a lot of money (even if I think they could afford it with the WS win) but not trying to really get better on the pitching side was weird. There was a good chance Carp was gonna be hurting from throwing like 300 inning last year and Wainwright coming back from TJS means he's not gonna be on top of his game. So instead of trying to sign one of fairly good SPs out there, they end up signing Beltran and other non-pitchers and go into the season with a fairly mediocre/bad rotation.

LaRussa played mind games, and he was pretty good at it. He used to get Dusty Baker all wound up about nothing. From this side it was pretty funny to watch. Baker spent a whole Hell of a lot more time bitching about LaRussa and the Cardinals than the Cardinals spent bitching about his teams. I kinda liked Baker when he managed SF, but since then he has been a little whiny bitch.
