As I mentioned in the vw stereo thread my new jetta was missing one of the vw emblems on a centercap. I ordered one of ebay and put it on. The very next day some asshole stole them emblem off another cap..... It looks like the glue they put these things on with is pretty weak. Anyone else had trouble with this? found a way to make them harder to take off? Whats the deal with stealing vw emblems anyway, I thought that went out of style years ago.
buy 'zip kicker'... its a super-glue accellerator that will turn glue like crazy glue into freaking cement in a moment. be careful and practice with it before the job..
or just buy another and shoot whoever is stealing your shit...
well I know back in the 90's some rapper or the other had a vw emblem on a necklace that was all the rage. suddenly all the punks wannabees were stealing vw emblems and putting them on chains. I thought that was over long ago but apprently the new vw commercials have sparked new intrest among kids with nothing better to do. I have noticed lately that there is barely a vw on the planet that isnt missing at least one of the emblems from the centercaps, Ive also noticed alot from the same era as mine that have had the emblem broken out of the front grill (oh man I would really kill somebody for that). I was thinking about spraying something that would burn or cause them to break out if they touched my wheels I dunno though. so long as its on the other side of the car where I dont see it as much its not too big a deal. It would be nice though if kids could just leave shit alone!
just wanted to warn anyone who may be looking to get new centercaps for a vw from this guy (or anything else from him for that matter)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300085832297&rd=1 I washed my car today and all the black paint on the logo came off when I sprayed the wheel off. I emailed him about it but somehow I doubt it will be replaced. It has to be a repainted used cap, not brand new as stated in the auction. the originals on the car arent so much as scratched.
swel looks like you might be SOL with this guy I just read his return policy:
Item must be returned within:
30 Days
Refund will be given as:
Money Back
Return Policy Details:

I have the feeling he will dispute it anyway. even though its obviously not the same paint as the other ones when he shipped it he had even put the sticky plastic sheet thing on it to make it look like it is brand new.
