I have a Honda Crv that I purchased used 5 years ago with 45K on it. I have never had any issues with it other than the normal wear of parts like tires, belts, brakes. But no real problems. The vehicle now has 230K+ and still get great gas mileage and looks practically new. Nobody ever believes me when I tell them how many miles it has on them. All of the Hondas that my family has had in the past have lasted at least into the 200k before we got rid of them.

Get a Civic they run forever. I had an 89 Civic for my first car and beat on that thing for over 2 years without any significant problems. A year ago I upgraded and got a 99 Civic. They are really good cars and do run forever.

True. I'm on my 3rd Civic and my brother I think is with his 4th. An uncle of mine has had a 1980, 82, 89, 96, 97, 98, 00, and an 02. I won't be surprised of I see an 08 sitting in the garage next to his Miata next time I stop by his place.

UPDATE.

We'll I decided to go ahead and get the truck a new transmission. Total cost is going to be around $1200 (ouch) and I am taking it in tomorrow. Hopefully the engine will continue to run well for me.

Thanks for all the help guys

Honestly, i think you did the best thing for your situation.
Your motor should be ok. Just keep the oil changed and you'll hopefully be on the path to a good engine life with many miles left.

Just think about it. You just bought half of a brand new truck. So the tranny is new, it should last a good while. All the other stuff doesn't really matter as much as long as the motor runs and the tranny keeps it moving (I.E. Body rust, AC, dents and dings)
For the most part. :) At least thats how I'd look at it.
