I saw Skip Bayless and Damon Hack list the best action movies of all time on 1st and 10 on ESPN the other day. Here is my list...

1. Die Hard
2. The Long Kiss Goodnight
3. Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)
4. The Bourne Identity
5. Kill Bill Volume 2

Christ you forgot Enter the Dragon. It's only have best action movie of all time and it has Bruce Lee. What could be better?

agreed. Also hard to ignore the whole wuxia genre...I guess its kind of an acquired taste for westerners, at least Americans, but def. some cool action going on there. Just saw Zu Warriors over the weekend, pretty much an "all over the map" plot, but pretty cool, especially if you can forgive the non-Hollywood budget CGI.

ha, you beat me too it, my #1 pick would have been the killer. The first time I was it I was like 13. I had never seen a 20 minute shooting scene in a movie before. That movie is so good. I just hate the mickey mouse dumbo stuff. I also think that it was John Woo at his best.

I was going to say Mission Impossible 2.

The Killer is up there for me, but I haven't seen all of his other ones.

It's silly, but I like The Transporter. Jakie Chan's movies are always fun, too.

I'm going to assume this counts as an action since someone said The Matrix.. but V for Vendetta has got some nice scenes. Love those tracers.

But as far as hardcore actions... you cant be the classics. Braveheart, Gladiator, and OF COURSE 300.
