This is starting to remind me a song by Wally Pleasant - "The day Ted Nugent killed all the animals"...

That is true. He also doesn't eat fast food or processed meats. He lives off what he hunts and raises. Wish I had that luxury, but in the city it is hard. We do have some plump squirrels. Hmmmm.
The only think I know about him for sure is that he's eaten at the Outback near the Mall of America once. I saw him there.

this statement causes me much pain, grief and suffering... but I will go throw plastic and feed my obsession

"meet your meat" either on youtube or www.goveg.com

i made my choice: preventing unnecessary cruelty takes priority over my health. its all about compassion, not the fact that it tastes good. going veg is completely healthy for most people. any questions, just ask.

your choice is your choice stop trying to influence others, this way you can still look down upon us from your pedastal.

i am compassionate for living creatures that arent treated respectfully. i am passionate about making a difference in this world. i am aware of the things which are good, and those things which are not. i live everyday according to the absolute truth that is always there for u to reach. again, i am simply trying to raise awareness about how animals are treated on factory farms, and what you are consuming if u choose to eat/drink those products. peace

There is so much misinformation on both sides in this discussion, it is almost mind-boggling.

For the record, I know plenty of perfectly healthy vegetarians who lead very active lifestyles. If you are careful about what you eat, you can have a healthy diet whether you choose to eat meat or not. Conversely, it is very easy to put shit in your body regardless of whether or not you maintain a vegetarian or vegan diet. So the health issue is mostly beside the point.

The environmental and sustainability issues are another debate entirely. Very messy and complex subjects that aren't even worth discussing at the surface level of discourse we could sustain on a disc golf forum.

: One thing I like best about all the vegetarians I know are that I respect their eating habits and they respect mine. If anyone of these people started telling me they were better than me because of their diet it would be the last friendly conversation we had.

If you are interested on really educating people, make sure you have your information straight first, and that you aren't rehashing subjects where you are no more an expert than those you are trying to educate. Then present the information in a non threatening manner, without condescending toward people that don't follow your personal moral code. Otherwise you are doomed to fail before you begin.
