Dip

Postby jmammo » Wed Mar 05, 2008 8:02 pm

I was just wondering if anyone else likes to pack a lip every now and again.
For me, I used to do a lot of that fruit flavored stuff, like skoal apple and citrus.
Now I do Skoal Straight, Husky Natural and Grizzly Mint.
I go through about 2-3 tins a month, which isn't really that much. I have been dipping for about 7 months.
I know it's bad for you and nasty and whatever else. I really don't care. I go by the notion if it feels good, do it; this may not be good in the long run but thats what I live by for now.
I have never really been addicted to the nicotine. Like a lot of addicts say "I can quit any time!" For me, I feel like a could do this and have no problem.

I remember we used to do chew a long time ago. Levi Garrett or Beechnut. Damn that stuff was good!

I wouldn't bet the farm on that. I don't dip but sometimes I smoke. Gets harder to quit when I want as time goes by...

Doesn't everybody start out thinking that way?? "I can quit anytime". It was probably true for me for the first year or so...now I'm freakin' HOOKED. None of that sissy stuff for me, Cope is where it's at. I'm always trying to quit...I'd really hate to shorten my lifespan because of something so stupid. I've been dippin' since '95.

I chew Skoal mint. Sometimes I'll buy Husky of Grizzly if I'm feeling cheap, but it seems that you get what you pay for, and considering that I only go through about 2-3 cans a month as well, it might as well be the good stuff. Been doing so since about 99'. For a while I'd switch between cigs and chew. Now it's strictly chew unless I bum a smoke from a friend.

Jmammo. If I were you I'd quit right now. stoneman is right. A few years ago I could have quit without an issue. Lately I've been considering quitting, and I think it would take a patch or pillor something to make it work.

quitting smoking is a bitch
i love to smoke

smoking for me > dipping
at least you kill yourself from the inside out

both a bad though
and i've enjoyed some skoal straight or cope black from time to time.
i hear they have a 100% mint dip that is supposed to be good for your teeth. maybe that could help some of you guys out.

chew is nice too, on a lazy day outside or a hike or somthing.

Red man and original flavor hubba bubba (half a piece). It's a baseball thing. I used to chew it all the time when I was still playing.

I would love to be able to find that. I think it is more of an oral fixation then a need for the nicotine.
