Cowboy Bebob for example...the english cast does a great job, and I just can't watch too much of the Japanese Edward.

heh... i can't watch too much of edward in any language.

cowboy bebop got by with being high budget in the USA. steven j. blum is now mr. i'm in every high budget anime and video game for US release. however... jet and faye's voices in the US versions are really weak.

in the japanese release... all 3 main characters basically got one of the most famous voice actors in asia.

Man...it occurs to me I've never actually watched Bebop in japanese. Now I've got something else to do while I'm out watching the parents' place this weekend!

we finished up speed grapher... very good series. very very dark... very dark... fairly decent "good to mediocre" episode ratio.

we killed "beck mongolian chop squad" in 2 days heh.

if anyone has any of these sets they recommend on DVD and wanna sell em, let me know what you have and how much you want.

the beck series had some of the best fake brand/product/store/band names ever.

harry davidson
yotota
modonald's
danny's
samsang
poma
somy
fendir

the fake band t-shirts had me crackin up.
a girl had a "rodiohead kid b" t-shirt. there was also "tv head"
the red hot chili popeppers
ramonnes and ramon
the nc 5.

ended up finding a buy 1 get 1 free sale on anime and picked up trinity blood and 7 samurai.

finished trinity blood tonight. it's... okay. nothing to write home about. did some digging online to fill in some of the questions that the anime series managed to skip over and it's more interesting to know the whole story. makes me wonder wtf they never revealed most of that stuff and added a few boring hum drum episodes instead. lot of political and religious undertones that were tactfully avoided...

sold a few pieces of guitar gear and put half the money to bills and spent the other half at a shop today that carries import hong kong anime releases that are about 60+% cheaper on average than the "real" releases.

still haven't been able to find an FLCL release under $55.

i ended up digging up an import FLCL release.

it has all 6 epi's on 1 disc but was like $19 shipped.

i had found another 3 disc version that was basically a copy of the boxed set for $29... but $18 shipping so i passed on it heh.

been burning through series... i know there will be an end to this soon as we're running out of stuff to watch heh.

still interested if anyone has anything used they want to part with. let me know what it is and how much you want. right now we're seeking ah my goddess season 2, love hina, and the original karas series but will consider anything.

also, does anyone know if there's a decent macross zero sub that doesn't play the pronoun game during ep's 2-4?

I might have the macross zero sub you need, what pronoun game are you talking about though, so I can double check?

pronoun game = messing up my/your, his/her, he/she, etc.

i've owned 2 copies of that and both botched that badly and it got worse as the series went on.

got my FLCL dvd and the f'n thing didn' work... get to go through the grand adventure of a return now and trying to track down another set :(

finished samurai shamploo today. very good. ending left some to be desired, but not any worse than most anime endings heh.

broke down and ordered an import version of death note. not gonna wait till next april to have all the DVD's released domestically, let alone at the obscene pricetag they have (prolly be a $100 box set).

The good fansub of Macross Zero has no problems with pronouns...I'll see if I can dig up a copy if you'd like.

sure, let me know.

i had both the FX and a diff version of macross zero. the first epi was based on a fansub. by the 4th epi it was like someone who took 2 years of english (or 2 years of japanese) in high school doing a translation.

i did get FLCL to play.. only took 4 diff dvd player tries heh. guessing it's done in a weird dvd format.
