Anybody still use Mini Disc?

Postby black udder » Tue Jul 15, 2008 12:28 pm

I have a standalone recorder and a player along with some discs that I'm looking to find a new home for and am just wondering if anybody uses that stuff anymore.

Is it the type of equipment that you can copy to via usb cable, or is it the type you have to record to like it's a tape?

As a technophile, it's dated stuff... you plug the recorder into the output of a device (i.e. cd player, amplifier, etc.) and record as the songs are played (like tape). Then you can take out the disc and put it into the compact player.

This was great when only compact disc players and tape players were around. Mp3 players were on the horizon and god awful expensive.

Now that they've all come down in price, the MP3 quality is sufficient for me.

I knew a guy in a band that used to use one and I see some on e-bay, but I don't know if there's any interest to make it worth trying to sell. Not looking to make a mint, just find a good home for it without costing me to get it out.... putting some change in my pocket wouldn't offend me either...
