Normally, I'd be inclined to opine upon such a discussion. However, since the thread is titled "Banana Chips" let me digress by imposing a comment upon you, my American counterparts...

Here in Canada we love our ketchup chips. Yes, potato chips flavoured with ketchup. If you've been here you've seen them everywhere. They are so good & I can't get them there in your lovely USA.

Any of you ever had them?

Other than the oil they're fried in I think they'd pass the vegan test

And BTW did you know that jell-o is made from powdered and boiled calves hooves? Yes indeed. So is it a dessert, a main course, meat, not meat, kosher? You decide. For more information I recomend the book "Jell-o: An Autobiography." I'll post a link if I find it.

and yeah, gelatin itself is made from animal hooves... the CRAZY thing is that if anything says 'sugar' under the ingredients it inherently has gelatin, which is animal. white sugar is processed and is comparable to a drug

I'm sorry but a lot, A LOT of my friends are vegan and 5 of them have had to go to the hospital this month from malnourishment. Not trying to be a dick. I just don't want you or anybody to have to be hospitalized from the food you (dont) eat. If you take protein that's great, you care about yourself. I also have the most energy I've ever had in my life right now, I sleep 7 hours and get out of bed whistling dixie. I run up the stairs and take a huge meaty shit. That's me bud.

I love banana chips too.

Look at the nutrition label & I'm sure you'd be suprised at how fatty they are.
I think they fry them in oil just like you would potato chips.

i didnt bother reading everyones responses (no offence but this subject is not quite read worthy...) but I do eat smart, and by eating smart I mean getting my protien the most natural way, by eating animals.

*(and i do eat smart, I eat minimal fast and junk food, and I always get all my fruits vegies and especially fibers and grains, I am worried about my weekly intake of green chili, 5 meals a week minimum (at work) is smothered in the stuff, that however dosnt effect my body much, more the toilet and my t.p budget...)

amateur, some vegans eat well and others eat junk. your 5 friends that went to the hospital fall into that category. its hard to eat vegan w/o a stable income and enough money to spend on food, i do understand that. eating vegan the wrong way is certainly just as unhealthy as other ways to eat. have any friends that are vegan and eat well?

another thing i notice is that many people can't say they respect vegetarians and even go out of their way to toot their 'i love meat' horn. seriously, i have no problem at all with meat-eaters but i definately dont take anyone that starts the convo with 'i love meat blah blah blah blah' as serious. (assuming the blah blah blah blah part was something along the lines of ignorant)

so seriously, if someone is really trying to take care of themselves by being vegetarian i think you should encourage that.
