Laptop

I've been looking for a new computer. I'm kind of picky, but it cannot be expensive. I need:
More than 2.5 Ghz processor
1gig ram
Cd burner (dvd would be nice too)
Memory doesnt really matter
Good Graphics and Sound card.

I'd defineitely prefer a laptop, but only if the price is right. By the way, I can only afford up to about $750. If anyone has any suggestions thatd be great.

I havent shopped laptops in a while but im guessing you will be hard pressed to find a laptop with those specs new, or even used, for that price. If you already have a monitor to use you can build a nice tower for that price. How nice of a video card? what kind of sound applications are you running? unless your doing pro recording the onboard sound on most modern motherboards should be sufficent.

As for a video/sound card, i just need to play most games for the next couple of years.

laptops are not typically good gaming machines. And most have zero upgrade potential. If you dont NEED a laptop, i wouldnt reccomend getting one. youll be paying more just for the size and shape, and it wont last as long performancewise.

This might be a good place to start, but the CPU speed isn't as fast as you wanted, and you can expect the pricetag to go up a bit during the customization process.

I hate to be a pessimist, but I doubt that you'll be able to find any computer with your specs for the price you're looking for.

Hopefully I can be proven wrong, but that's just my gut feeling. You'll probably have to back off a bit on the horsepower (CPU, RAM, video card, etc) or be willing to spend more money.

I like Dell. Watch for specials and you can probably get something you're looking for at the price you can afford.

I used to put my own computers together, but I don't seem to save much anymore.
