This weekend I sold my old bike (1980 Suzuki GS1100E) and purchased my new bike, a Suzuki Intruder VS1400. My wife and I had a blast just cruising around this weekend.

It already has some nice upgrades.

The black Yamaha in the front is my 1982 Yamaha Virago. I have had it for 12 years. The red Honda Nighthawk is my brothers, and the black Honda Magna belongs to his friend. This was taken last year on a ride out of town.

Hey there. I currently ride an '81 Yamaha Maxim 650 (sorry no pics), but am looking to get a new bike before Winter starts since there's some great deals. I really want to get a sport bike, but due to insurance (I'm 18, been riding street for a year) there's no way I'm going to pay $3500 a year for a "superbike" (current bike is only $160 a year :O) . It's really unfortunate too because I found an '06 Suzuki GSX-R 600 for $3000 and under 4000 miles. Damn that woulda been a nice deal. I got a list from my insurance company of the bikes that they consider to be "superbikes", leading to an insane insurance cost. Anyways. I'm looking for a "naked" bike with the "crotch rocket" look or been looking at Buells. I really like the look of the Buell Lightning, or Firebolt (amazingly it's not on the list) and was also looking at the Suzuki SV650 or SV1000. Anyone have any suggestions? Looking to spend $5,000 or less.

Can't go wrong with either of those. Just the bikes I have been looking at. Unless of course I decide to go full throttle on my wallet and get the Triumph Street Triple (Ultimate sexy bike)

Last month I did a tour of Baja on my KLR, It took 3 weeks and 4 flats. It was a good trip.

So apparently now the SV650 is insured as a superbike, but yet I'm fine with a Yamaha FZR 600. Just doesn't make any sense.
