I really wanted to get a pair of the Wings, but I wanted shoes with the XCR. That was the reason I went for the North Face ones

I just wear water socks with them. It works out pretty well.

That kinda what you're looking for? Nothing wrong with the 104's, not my personal fav but still a good shoe. Prefer the WP XT Wings, however don't expect much more life than a year... Got a nice small but noticeable leak in mine (year later)

What do you guys think of them?

My Salomons have pretty much bit the dust after 8 monthes of use. I wish REI had them in my size so I could get new ones. Very comfy, but I can't justify spending 125 bucks on a pair of shoes that only last 8 monthes. I guess they can't handle 280 lbs of fury!!!!

Anybody have these? I almost got Hedgehogs, but I liked the way these looked better. All the reviews I read were pretty good. Hopefelly they last as long as my merrells.

I am looking for a new pair, and that is one of the ones I am considering... let me know what you think once you get them

I have a pair of the Hedgehog's and the have held up pretty well. They are pretty comfortable and light. Before I bought the hedgehog's I bought the XCRs with the BOA technology. The BOA technology seemed like a good idea but, it still can't beat the Salomon Quickfit lacing.

I can't speak to the BOA lacing, but I do love the Salomon quickfit. I've pretty much trashed my XA Pros more quickly than other shoes in the past. I can't fault the shoes though, I think it's more my form that's done it. I've inadvertently dragged the side of my foot across the teepad on several occasions, and the soft foam soles just come apart like a sponge on a cheese grater. Still, the shoes feel great on my feet--nice and snug, and lightweight, and I really REALLY like not having to deal with shoelaces AT ALL. One of my pet peeves with shoes these days is that manufacturers seem to insist on round (or oval) shoelaces, which come untied so much easier it seems. And having to retie shoelaces, especially wet ones, sucks.

I really wish Salomon would make a shoe made specifically for disc golf...basically a trail runner with the beefier sole of a light hiker. GTX and quickfit laces, of course.

I got the North Face shoes in earlier today. (I love free overnight shipping) I didn't get any DG in, but me and my son played at the park.

Pros-
They are very comfortable right out of the box. They have a wide foot bed, which is good for me. They are also pretty light, just a tad heavier than my Salomon 3D Pros and much lighter than my Merrell Chamelion GTX.

Cons-
They feel clunky after being use to my Salomons. The lacing is odd. They have normal eyelets and wide eyelets. They come set up on the wides and they feel a bit loose. This is probably an easy fix by just mixing and matching to find the best narrow/wides to use. I like the salomon quicklace better. They never felt loose.

So far so good. Can't wait to hit the course and some puddles

They also have a 1 year warranty like Salomon.

Hopefully Salomon will replace my others that ripped. I don't think that's normal wear and tear.

Dude, that's definitely a warranty replacement. The Hedgehogs that I had replaced by TNF after a similar time period still had the soles intact and the wear on the uppers was not even as bad as what's in your photo.

Also, you should be able to get them to send you new laces just by calling and telling them your current ones broke, as long as it's still in the warranty period. Your shoes are beyond just needing laces though.

That's what mine did except for the rip in the material. Solomon replaced them no charge.

My sole on a pair of my Salomons did the same thing after a month. They same thing happened again to the second pair after another month. Luckily I bought them at REI and I was able to exchange them for a pair of Hedgehogs. The Hedgehogs are nice but, I do miss not having to lace my shoes up.
