To anyone who has got a warranty replacement through Salomon, how long did it take to get a replacement?

I think it took about a month.

I would recommend these for people who like a shoe with decent grip:

And for people who want a shoe that will let their foot pivot:

Still grabs alot on the tee, but on the grass its a smooth shoe.

With the Salomon warranty, do a replacement pair of shoes have a full year warranty or does it last for the durration of the first pair only?

I just got mail from Salomon (my XA Pro's are leaking a bit), they said that the analyzing and possible warranty replacement is going to take 1-2 weeks. Dunno about the states tho. Salomon is a Finnish brand nowadays, btw. :)

I'm getting the new updated model, called Salomon XA Pro 3d Ultra. "The new Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra improves on the popular XA Pro 3D by increasing the front cushioning and protection." I should have them before weekend, and I'm going to throw some plastic on weekend too. I'll hit you with a short review next week.

They switched to a 2 piece sole this year, which is what my XT Wings have. I talked with Barry about them at the Wide Open this year, and he said they have lasted him a lot longer than the old 1 piece sole. Mine aren't gore-tex (I wear Gore Tex socks if it's going to rain; it allows the shoe to dry out quicker), but the I'm very impressed with the design over the old design. I've had mine since the end of April, and while I've gone through 1 pair of laces (they said that particular run had a defect in them), the shoes themselves have no tears, and the soles are holding together nicely. I'm not a big guy (5'4" 130 lbs), but I do put a ton of torque on my shoes from my quick hip/leg action, and normally blow out shoes every 4 months. These show no sings of that.

I just got a pair of these Patagonia Drifters and they are INCREDIBLE! You can wear these with nice pants and a shirt and they have enough style to not look out of place (unless you have them covered in mud), but at the same time they are all business on the trail. These are now my go to cool/cold weather shoes for outdoor activities. Assuming these have the typical Patagonia quality they should last a long time.

I'll still probably rock my super light NB 790 trail runners in the summer since they are so light and cool, but the rest of the year it'll be these Patty Drifters.
