I know enough about the technique to give some examples and teach it decently, but I cannot putt for the life of me.

Excellent Dan, Edrift and Lucas. Thank you for putting this together. It really helps to have a video example of short arm putting. The motion is even shorter than I thought.

Experimenting on my own, my puttting stroke was evolving toward this. Every time I practiced, I would try to shorten my stroke a little and see if I could still putt the same distance, and every time I found out I could actually putt a little further.

Now that I know how extreme short arm putting is supposed to be, I think I'll really be able to nail it.

Yes, when I am learning something new I always exaggerate everything.

I'm an artist also so exaggeration of form, structure, and posture creates a better pose.

Another great video guys. Thanks to all who helped out. I think I have slowly shortened my putting stroke to resemble this more. I have been working on releasing earlier and earlier with better results. It is great to see how short the stroke actually is. Now to be a little greedy. Anymore videos on the way? Hip pivot maybe?

Wow. I never would have thought that the short arm putt would be so short.

It looks like it could be way more accurate because there is less motion going on, allowing fewer things to go wrong.

I went to the practice basket and gave this a whirl today and had a big problem getting enough height on the disc. I repeatedly hit the pan. Any advice on how to get the height?

Your not popping it fast enough.

the pop is what rises the disc.

Think of popping your hand open as fast as humanly possible.

A little tip Blake told me is to extend your thumb towards the pole.

I didn't think this style would work very well for me but I gave it some practice last night and it was surprsingly accurate. my only question/concern is what do you do on longer putts? I can't imagine you can jump putt with this form so does that mean you need to change your putting style for longer putts?

aim higher. play the apex and learn the drop rates of your putters.

i jump putt with this all the time. it is range limited without a jump though... i max out at about 29-31' without making changes.

there's a couple of other tricks to add range that i only use if i have an obstructed stance. adding 1 degree of anhyzer will add like 8-10' of carry on putts outside 25'. adding 5 degrees of hyzer will add 5-10' of carry but also add left/right play.

the real key to this style of putting is that there's no stroke variance really outside of 10-12'. change heights to manipulate distance. add a jump to add more distance.
