Patapsco Valley State Park- Is this course still open? or has it closed for the season.

I wasn't aware that the course was seasonal. All the info I've seen just points to the fee to enter the park ending in Oct.

Patapsco is open year around and it is a pay to play course. I believe the cost is $2 which isn't bad considering the sweetness of the course.

If you have a chance, can you update this? We're gonna try to tackle Patapsco, Rockburn and Druid Hill this weekend. Oh, and can I find score cards online if I search hard enough?

P.S. how do you pronounce "Patapsco"?!? Pa-taps-co?

If you're a masochist, I also recommend Iron Hill and Brandywine in DE as a great trip not far from Baltimore -- opposite direction of Patapsco/Rockburn, but a great trip as well.

Baltimore would be a perfect place for a disc golf weekend. One day at Patapsco/Rockburn, one day at Iron Hill/Brandywine. Throw in Druid wherever it fits best...

The Iron Hill / Brandywine day would make you want to curse, however. Many more opportunities for immense frustration than at Ptap and the Rock.

Rochburn is nice but get a map if one is available, I played there on Christmas day, luckily with someone who knew the course. FYI...holes 3-5 are left and beyond tee 6, I would of walked directly to 6 without the help I had.

If you need help, post on the md-discgolf.com forums. The locals for Rockburn are great. I went out there a while back with a friend of mine and met up with two locals who showed us the Loin Tees layout (small flags on about half the holes; the other flags are missing). The Loin layout was brutal but a great course. Some new angles and it significantly lengthened some of the (already) hard holes. If they ever make it a well-marked set of alternate tees, the Loins would be sick for a tournament round.

It's Loin.

Short for G-Loin which an alias of local pro Glen Hatfield. He doesn't travel much for dg but he does get sick with it. He marked most of the tees I believe.

Gloin used to nasty at tennis too, seems the transition to being buttery smooth in DG was an easy one.
