need /= want
Yes people need that many discs. Many top players carry between 14-20 discs. I believe Feldberg has 18 in his backpack.
I have to disagree, and here is why.
Weather changes, which means you change which disc you want to use in those conditions. You can't predict if you are going to need the wind disc that round. you might, you might not.
Also many people carry the same mold, in different states of wear. Example I carry 4 QMS, 3 Omega Putters, 2 MOLF, 2 QOLF and 2 SJLS.
Along with those discs, I carry a MOLS, QPLS, Q-Sentinel, EXP-1, CE Firebird, Champion Roadrunner and Champion Boss (testing it out to see what it does, so far it's a great forehand disc, and awesome wind disc, it might replace my CE Firebird mainly because I can replace the Boss and can't replace the Firebird).
You need discs for tailwinds, you need disc for headwinds, and the occasional utility disc.
I don't use the Roadrunner that much, I mainly have it in there for a roller or when I need an extreme anhyzer. The Boss only comes out in the need for a forehand and in extreme headwinds. EXP-1 is thumber disc.
Some of my discs only come out when I play in Colorado. Some don't even get to fly when I go to other states at lower elevations.
So I think limiting the amount of discs one can carry would hurt the sport.
