Are there any GGGT employees here??

Postby Triplebogey » Tue Jun 23, 2009 3:06 pm

I just found out today that my local PIAS (Santa Maria) is getting "specialty" discs from GGGT.

Since they get most of their suggestions from me, maybe I can cut the midde man here.

Our PIAS needs to carry Z Preds and Strikers. Can someone from GGGT convince them that these are good sellers and they would make money off of them if they carried them?
My trades

I suck at Disc Golf, therefore I can't afford to carry discs that suck.

Just get XXX's and Strikers, they're better than preds :) I think blake works for them(or used to) and will hand pick discs for you if you call them.

I think it's better to hold it in your hand first, especially if you just want one to try. Plus you can get the exact disc you want.

Oh, come to think of it, we need some D and X Buzzz's. Some Prototype SS Wizards would be da shizznit too!!

But if Blake knows Z-Preds forward and back, and you could tell him what characteristic you're looking for, then why not do that and order online? Sure holding them is great, what if they get ones that don't feel great? It's not like they will get 4 variations of them... it'll be a tiny tiny sampling.

Anyway my point is, your gear is coming from gggt anyway. Why do you want to limit yourself to a smaller supply and remove the expert knowledge of Blake the T. Make an order, leave notes with the order, and trust the man. I just don't see the benefit of forcing your gggt purchase to flow through your local non-DG store.

And besides, support dg biz. :)

btw this sounds like way more of a rant than intended :)
I think gggt direct is your ticket to the right stuff

Because if I lose it out at Waller Park, I wan't to be able to drive 1/4 of a mile and get an other one.

This.

Let PIAS get the hot sellers because that's what they need.

Let Blake pick your discs, because that's what you need :D

I sent an order to GGGT asking for money Rocs and some very specific, identical Wizards, and Blake fulfilled the order perfectly. I sent in the description that I would be willing to pay an extra handling fee for the service, but they didn't add anything to the order.

Now that I think about it, the best thing to do would probably be to tack a DGR Mini set onto an order if you ask for it to be handpicked, just as a thank you. It will still probably come out cheaper than buying them through PIAS.

There used to be a DG store here called Aimin' for the Chain. I don't know what happened to them, but the market here doesn't seem large enought ot support a DG retail store. I want at least one outlet here on the central coast.

AFAIK, there's no other DG retail outlet here besides Discovering the World in Buena Park, 225 miles away. :(

Someone at GGGT sent a stack of Tsunamis to S.M. PIAS. They've sat there gathering dust for over a month now. :?

Yes, but Z Preds are better, and they'll probably sell better too. So will Strikers.

I'm jacking this thread since it effectively has the title I want.

What's up with GGGT lately? I've got some eBay auctions I've won where they were the seller and it's been about 3 weeks now with no communication from them at all. Everything alright over there?

I am bidding on a GGGT disc right now. Hopefully this turns out okay. Have you tried calling them?
