I know on the kc pro's if you boil them the will take any dome out.

You can also put a bunch of books (heavy books) on top of it and leave it for a week or so.

I use a heat lamp to flatten disc's. I lay them on their dome and turn a heat lamp on them at about 6-8 inches for about 30 minutes. Then I put it in the freezer. I tried this with a Champ TB once and forgot about it. Went back about 3 hours later and it wasn't all melted at least. So I put it in the fridge. This thing is almost like throwing an Xtreme. So...3 hours is definitely too much.
If the object of disc golf were to hit trees, I'd be 1100 rated.

I have done the following with much success:

1. Place your Roc dome-side down on the counter
2. Boil some water
3. Pour the water into your Roc (it is now very obvious whether or not you did Step 1 correctly :P )
4. Put a cookie sheet on top of the Roc
5. Place several heavy books or other flat heavy objects on top of the cookie sheet
6. Wait 30 minutes
7. Check on the Roc. NOTE: The water in the Roc may have caused the disc to suction to the bottom of the cookie sheet. Please remove the cookie sheet very carefully to avoid possibly spilling the water!

If it's flat enough, you're done. If not, repeat Steps 1 - 6

I do the same thing as sleepy, I just leave the heavy stuff on until it's all cooled off...usually hours (I just forget about it). Works quite well.

WOW...sleepy's technique for flattening a DX Roc worked perfectly! Turned out like a flat top rock...perfect. Just a tip...when you're removing the cookie sheet from the disc, keep in mind that the disc with water in it will suction to the bottom of the cookie sheet. I learned the hard way tonight. Lifted the cookie sheet up and the disc stuck for a second, then dropped splashing water everywhere.

Great technique to get a flat Roc!

That's great! I'm glad to hear it worked out for you.

Ooooh, that's not so great...sorry! I don't remember that happening to me last time, but maybe I waited longer than 30 minutes before removing the cookie sheet.

I've updated the procedure...thanks for the tip.

I originally used this technique to repair a Roc that had become warped from being wedged under my carseat for an extended period of time. Some people just like flatter Rocs (do a search for flattop/Ching Rocs) and this is one way to create a flattop Roc from one you might already have at home.

Luckily I got 2 new 11x Firebirds this past weekend, but would this flattening technique work on something like a domey 12X Firebird?
