Or for those few that actually suffered through Battlestar Galactica...They really believe that too! Hubbard probably rolled in his ethereal spirit sleep when he saw Travolta in that disaster.

discspeed wrote:The Phiten website is 100% science free. As a science teacher this is exactly the kind of thing I am trying to protect my students from by teaching them critical thinking skills. When people lack critical reasoning ability and did not get a good science education in school they are easily fooled by what appears to be science. No data? No research? No explaination whatsoever of any scientific process by which this is supposed to work? It really bothers me to see a company taking advantage of people who lack knowledge is something I'm passionate about. In the future I will be using this as an example in my classes where I present some outrageous claims and we practice using the scientific method to critically examine the claims. As Bill Nye once said..."extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof". Testimonials? C'mon people, surely your science teacher did you better than this! Oh well, a fool and his money...

Another science educator! Right on!!!

Everyone buying this pseudo-science "stuff" needs to go read The Demon Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark by Carl Sagan. It is written in layman's terms and really hits home the point of being skeptical, using your brain for reason and logic and the unfortunate pervasive spread of pseudo-science in modern society.
