Ice Bowl @ 9 hole course...

Anyone have any idea how to run an Ice Bowl at a 9 hole course w/ only one set of tees. Problem i'm possibly having is having 50+ people....

any thoughts?

Limit the field to 45. Or 54 is 6somes isn't too terrible at said course. Or you could do tee times. I'm guessing a 9holer can be played pretty quickly, so you just start early, and send out 4-5somes as soon as the group in front holes out.

Can you make extra tees? Is there extra land for some temp holes?

Maybe make a team format, or even some sort of elimination team format.

side games..

You need to have side games to keep occupied some players when the 9 holes in full force.

Disc shoes? (horseshoes with temp baskets)

CTP tosses (temp baskets/object)

There's a bunch of carnival upshtick that can be added as well not disc golf related - only limited by our imaginations..

that way you have 1-9 holes, then side game #1, side game #2 and so forth as they shufffle through them..

If you have 9 alt tee's see if you can place 9 more baskets for a full 18?

Joplin missouri has a 27 hole course (full 18 + back 9). We had a tournament there awhile back where the TD added 9 more to the back 9 for a full 18. I'm not sure what options you have as far as land goes so maybe this isn't an option.

I was also in a tournament where half the course was under water (bad flood season) so they did the front 9 twice. We only had maybe 30 people but it went very well. However, it would have been difficult if there were 40+ people.

At that same tournament we were doing an "iron man" format where we traveled to four different courses in the same day and played 72 holes in less than 5 hours... Try doing that on a sprained foot.. Depending on the location of your courses around you, you could try something where you play 9 there and 9 at another near by 9 hole course? Just an idea.
