whats wrong with my toes ??

Postby beatz » Tue Dec 08, 2009 3:58 pm

So for max D i am throwing flick. Granted my flick is more like a sidearm baseball pitch. However after a few round my left foot the toes end up hurting !! Not the foot but all of the toes they will hurt for a day or so and be back to normal after. I assume im possibly curling my toes when im following through ?

Any thoughts ?

Don't throw the disc at your toes on your left foot.

And your shoes are fitting right? Like you don't have a lot of slip room in them?

nope shoes fit perfectly, I have my feet sized once a year just incase they are shrinking or expanding.

I get the same kind of issue, though in my big toe on my right foot, when throwing backhand. I usually notice it after a day where I've played 2+ rounds. I'm pretty sure its from my follow through, where I inadvertently pivot on my toe. It's something I keep telling myself to try to correct, but I'm already distracted by so many other things that need fixing.

something similar happens to me, also. I've always attributed it to overuse. So, if you're throwing like a pitcher, then you're balancing on the toes and it's not something you do enough to condition the toes for it. I get it after an excess of golf.

I pivot on toes especially the big one at least partially and often land on the big one at the plant. I get pain more often during field practice. It seems to be an overuse thing for me. Sometimes during heavy usage periods other toes than the big one get achy too.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

i can see your throw in my head, its like a 3/4, not quite overhead, but not a parallel sidearm flick either. I think when you throw that way, all the pressure is likely on your left side (rh? correct?) and you are likely rotating counter clockwise as a result of your bodies momentum and your pressure is all going to the toes instead of the ball of the foot. If it were on the ball, it would be spread out more, and also rotate easier.

Sound like a possibility?
