Supposedly the previous Blackberry Messenger update fucked something up.

We just got Droids a couple days ago. We weren't scheduled for upgrades until May but we got a promotion where we could do it right away.

Personally, I'm OK with the on-screen keyboards so having a physical keyboard that's flat isn't that big of a deal. Now, I've never seen you in person, but based on the videos I've seen I'm guessing my fingers are quite a bit more slender than yours considering they're slender for someone of my size (6'2", 195). So far, the biggest difference I've noticed between the on-screen and the physical keyboard is whether or not you like the feel of pushing down the keys. They're about the same size and shape.

I like the phone a lot. We had LG Dares before this and while they are great "feature phones," the app store and speed make the Droid quite a bit more fun to use. The browser is also pretty good, but I'd really like the pinch zooming. I haven't gotten the hang of the tap zoom yet.

Something I really do like is how easy everything is. The OS on the Dare (BREW) didn't do things as intuitively as they do in Android. For example, if I wanted to get a clip from a song from my iTunes and make it a ring tone, I had to copy it to my Flash card and then MMS it to myself to set it as a ring tone. On the Droid I just copied the old sounds folder to the new Flash card and the clips automatically showed up and I had the option to set them as ringtones. It's lots of little stuff like that.

So far I'm finding that the apps are cool, but most of them have pretty limited use. Yeah, scanning the barcodes is nice, but am I doing to drive across town or buy something that I want online to save $1.50? Taking a picure of something and having it automatically search Google for it is really cool, but it's not any faster than typing it in. The really obvious ones like weather and helping pick restaurants (which are things I could do before, just slower) seem to be the most useful ones.

what are you trying to say here? :P

The thing about the keyboard that gets me is that its flat, there's hardly any travel to the buttons, and its weird offset. I guess the flat and lack of travel isnt a huge deal if you're used to a virtual keyboard.

Does anyone here have the Sprint HTC Hero?

I just received one for Xmas and I love this phone so far. I am by no means a techie and I have not had the latest and greatest phones over the years. I have had a treo 755 for the past 6 years so this has been a huge upgrade.

Any tips, tricks or any particular to the phone anyone may know about that has already had one? This has been one of the better phones Sprint has put out I think.

I used to rock a treo 700wx. Oh the good ol days.

Never really messed with a Hero, but what little I did, it was nice. I really like htc's.

I remember those, its like the modern version of the old cell phones that came in a briefcase.

And yea so far the HTC Hero is Awesome! It is no Iphone but for me its close enough. Plus I cant leave sprint as I get 25% off everthing as Im grandfathered in on a special plan

That I have skinny fingers. I was at a friend's house for a party once and for some reason everyone was comparing what their hands looked like. Dispite being the tallest, I had, by far, the skinniest fingers. I can see how a guy with normal sized, to large fingers might have a more difficult time since I think the keys are kind of small and hard to press myself.

I got a Droid last week....my first smart phone and I like it so far. I don't do anything crazy complicated yet, though. I agree about the fingers, there were a lot of complaints about the keyboard, but I haven't had many problems, perhaps due to my long, freakish, instrument playing fingers.

Anyone found a good golf app yet?
