Here's my cat and my corn snake hanging out. They're best buds, and why wouldn't they be? They share a lot of hunting interests.

than i pick it up and play with it, regardless what it is. been bitten once and was never afraid of them ever again and have not been bitten since.

they just feel so kick ass!

I had a large macklot's python bite me and hold on for like a half hour. It must had its predator prey instinct all fired up... it kept working it's teeth in and constricting my arm. I finally got her off using HOT water from sink. hundreds of little needle teeth caused a lot of blood, but nothing major

I got a call from Bill Seamen and Ken Climo today as they came across a 4.5' yellow rat snake at NE Coachman DG course. Unfortunately I was across town at a different course so I couldn't come catch it and check it out. Its good to be known as the snake man and get calls whenever someone finds one though.

On another note, I fed both my snakes tonight. My new little yellow rat (I've named him Altair after Assassin's Creed) ate his second mouse more greedily than his first. The mouse I gave my corn snake was big and stupid enough to go up and smell the snake's face...WHAM!!! His eyeballs almost popped out as he was getting the squeeze...

Whenever I see a garter snake, I usually try and catch it
But I'm gentle with them, and let them go right where I found them. Or if they are in harm's way, I'll relocate them to a safer spot.

My sister has owned several snakes, and I always thought it was funny when they'd do that. The snake is poised to strike, and the mouse is all like "Hmm, what's this? I better get real close and check it out..."

i've killed 9 copperheads in my yard since moving to my new house. they are everywhere around here. one of my dogs was bitten 3 times by one, but luckily it had little effect. i myself was almost bitten while trying to handle/relocate the snake (being nice, now they all die). i've owned plenty of non-poisonous snakes and thought i was quick enough to try my hand at the poisonous variety. hell no. don't mess with them, that's the best way to find yourself in the ER.

So I'm noticing a general lack of discspeed posts right now, all this talk of snake killing with no rebuttalls just brought it to my attention. Any FL locals know what's up? Jim?

Dunno, he wasn't at the handi on Sunday, I thought maybe he was just being a wuss about the cold but then he was quiet all week on here too. He did just make a post the other day though so maybe he's just really busy right now. If he isn't there on Sunday again I'm going to call and see what's up. There are snakes that need their honor defended here!

Keeping your distance is different then killing them because they happen to cross your line of site.
