Sounds like you guys are having a serious problem with the database. I'd recommend someone take a peek at it and see why. That shouldn't be happening, nor should the horrendous outage of errors that happened when I posted this thread.

None of the admins that frequent the site have access (Me, Solty, or Frank). We think Fritz does, but he hasn't said yet.
The only large error I've seen is when I tried to delete a 6 repeated post from GGGT. Anyways, we're looking(ish) into it.

The error I was getting was: Too many connections (1040)
I've seen it a few times but it never lasts more than a few hours.

I think that's a bandwidth error.

No, too many connections indicates that the database server thinks that there're too many user connections attempting to access data. Usually this is because it's surpassed a configured limit, but when associated with other problems like the one I got, it's usually indicative of the database not being functional enough to keep up with the normal load.

This can also happen when the server's spawning too many children, or when server requests are leaving db handles open.

It's been this way (Table 'm' is marked as crashed and should be repaired [1194]) since at least yesterday afternoon when I tried searching.

There is update that is suppose to fix this problem but we have to see who has access to the backend to apply it.

... Isn't anyone going to make a joke about Frank D looking for access to the back end?
