Murray Open - Early Start time

The tournament here in March has registration from 7:30 to 8:30 am which for me is the crack of dawn. Do all tournaments start this early? If so why?

I'm not familiar with this tournament, but I've been to a few tournaments that had two flights where the first flight teed off at 7:30.
Single course, single flight tournaments are usually 9:30 or 10 tee time these days with a few still starting at 9.
Last summer I played a four round, four course tournament (Lickathon) that teed off at 7. I had to get up at 1:30am to make the 5 hour drive in time for the player's meeting (6:45).
