I believe the propensity to talk about disc golf is in direct relation to one's ability to actually play. Thus, if you are unable to play (like me now), you're refreshing the forum just about hourly. For those that can play, I imagine they're off playing and check back in on a less frequent basis.

heh. actually, i don't talk about dg very much and there's about 7-10 other things i know equally well if not better than disc golf.

i don't do all that much anymore and most of my time is spent hangin w/ my gf. now that most of my friends are off busy with their lives, when i talk dg i generally just want to talk, and my focus isn't as much about subject matter.

thankfully a few of my recent dg phone consultations have drifted into movies, basketball, etc. and some of my other interests.

funny thing is i've won over a dozen final 4 pools, 5 out of 5 years of fantasy baseball, 8 out of 10 fantasy football leagues, etc.

i could never really get into fantasy sports. i tried football this year, but it was eh... but seriously, when they put the brackets out, i wanna see yours. next question: blake, i recetly tried to jump my car off in the rain, in my rush i connected the cables backwards on my car. what kind of damage can this cause to both cars and what is the best way to deal with an electrical burn on your throwing hand?

not sure on the car thing, but best case is probably a fried battery. worst case = fried battery, altenator and/or shorted electrical stuff.

as for electrical burns... skin grafting? heh. lotion w/ aloe, ice, and probably a glove until it toughens up. after that, may be able to get by w/ tape or some skin shield or super glue.

well, i'm realistic enough to know that cheering for a team does not mean thinking a team is good, nor agreeing with the things they do.

i am a t-wolves fan, but i believe they are one of the most mis-managed teams in the league.

e.g. if randy foye was the most coveted player by the sixers, and i believe that randy foye will never be as good as iverson, shouldln't we have done everything in our power to basically trade everything/anything on our roster to build a package around foye to land iverson? by the time iverson and garnett are useless due to age is around the time we have another 1st round draft pick. while iverson may not have been a "great fit," i consider him a better fit than troy hudson, marko jaric, mark blount, trenton hassell, mark madsen, eddie griffin, justin reed, bracey wright, mike james, ricky davis, craig smith, and randy foye combined.

just for the record, as i believe brandon roy was the best player available in the draft overall, wtf did we draft him and trade down for $1M? in the past, when we have traded UP, we have given up a 1st round draft pick... e.g. marbury for ray allen. i would have given up the 2 2nd round picks from the celtics in the szczerbiak deal to get foye + a 1st rounder from portland and forced that to happen.

so yah. i dig the business side of the game, even though it's retarded. i like seeing the formulas on how to build teams, role players, etc. i have a high bball IQ so it makes sense to me why some teams suck. it's when they show no desire to improve that i get pissy.

Man, don't get me started on the t-wolves. I completely agree with what you said Blake, some of the things that their management does is incomprehensible to me. It us unbelievable to me that K.G has stayed loyal to the franchise when they have done absolutely nothing to help him.

i believe he understands that his contract has severely hurt any chance of building a significant contender around him, as well as being traded to a team where he would have his best suited role (as a SF/PF and #2 scoring option on a team w/ a superstar, or a #3 scoring option on a team w/ 2 stars).

yes, he was willing to take a pay cut to sign a 3-year $60M extension heh. but like seriously though, if he retires w/ the wolves, never reaching the finals or winning a title, he can sit back in his mansion content with the 190 million reasons he received to stick with em.

they did stuff to help him, but then when it didn't work, they f'd up big time. garnett worked better w/ gugliotta at the post... googs didn't want to play w/ marbury, so they let googs go and then 4 months later traded marbury... i still don't get how when someone else trades marbury in the 90's they get jason kidd but when we trade him we get terrell brandon.

they brought in bobby jackson... then refused to pay him $3M a year... they bring in chauncey billups... and refused to commit to starting him (when terrell brandon MIGHT return) and he had only asked for $4M a year... but they bring in troy hudson and pay him $5M a year. i believe trenton hassell would have signed a ~4-year ~$2M per year deal, but instead we had to let the market dictate his value and have portland offer him $27M over 5 (or was it 6? either way too much). when that happened i said let him walk. if he had a 3 pointer he'd have value slightly below bruce bowen or shane battier. with only 16-18' of range he's a shorter version of tyrone hill without the rebounding.

spree and cassell were good pickups and eased the pain of not picking up nick van exel the year before. it was nice to see what KG could do during a season surrounded by athleticism and a go to scorer (cassell).

jaric wasn't a bad pickup, and i'm glad we shipped off wally white men can't jump, but we gave up way too much to unload those packages and proved to me that mchale is actually a worse gm than danny ainge.

the biggest kicker this year was when joe smith's contract was worth enough to land iverson HEH.

i believe casey is part of the problem too, not willing to play foye/mccants enough to put butts in the seats. if yer just going to blow a 72 point lead going into the fourth quarter with the starters in, maybe the wrong people are starting? i don't care if eddie griffin is a piss poor driver while masturbating to porno at 2am, what i do care about is that he's probably the 4th best player on the team and gets less run than a quadriplegic. if we have no intent to keep him, why not boost his value and trade him?

all in all, the wolves have a ton of long term overpriced contracts and very little athleticism or shooting ability.

it's only a matter of days before jaric gets shipped off to detroit, but nazr mohammad is not an appealing answer to me... and after the other night's altercation, a package (including ~3 second round draft choices and a throw in for salary purposes) for antonio mcdyess is pretty much out of the question (although i'd be wlling to wager that mcdyess + garnett = 40 points a night + 20 rebounds).

Yea I was dying to see Iverson go to the T-Wolves. Both AI and Garnett deserve a championship and would have loved watching them fight for it together.

why? because denver has more talent than any of those teams minus their star.
their weak link has always been lacking a reliable SG. they have one of the deepst if not the deepest front courts in the league (when healthy and not being retarded), the best pure scoring SF i've seen since glen rice, a slew of role players, and a few young, and long super athletes.

i wanted him in MN because MN would have been better with him than without him, even if the team was garnett, iverson, and 10 d-league guys.

Denver probably does have the deepest front courts in the NBA but, their downfall will be their lack of defense and rebounding. Every year Marcus Camby gets worn down at the end of the season. He needs some help if they are going to go deep in the playoffs or else the Nuggets will just have to play run and gun. Denver vs. Phoenix would be a fun series to watch just because all of the offense.
